The Music Fella’s thoughts on…

The Grammy’s released their 2026 nominations for their upcoming awards ceremony not too long ago. Here are a few artist/projects I am predicting to bring home to the golden record players.

Leon Thomas is up for a few awards after taking all of R&B by storm. His album ‘Mutt’ is nominated for both Album of the Year & Best R&B Album. I highly recommend giving this album a spin with songs like VIBES DON’T LIE, LUCID DREAMS featuring Masego and I USED TO featuring Baby Rose.

Thomas [Leon Thomas] has quickly cemented himself as the new standard in the genre. We’re all blessed to be living in the Leon Thomas era. He gives off the vibes that he’ll be around for years to come.

I expect Thomas to take home at least one Grammy when the night arrives. Even in loaded categories like Best New Artist.

One of my favorite artists of recent received a ton of love from the Grammy voters. This artist is the extremely talented, Olivia Dean.

Nominated for Best New Artist, Dean [Olivia Dean] has taken the world by storm with songs like Man I Need and Nice To Each Other. Her songs have millions of streams and her fans are producing creative videos made on short-form content platforms like Tik Tok and Instagram Reels to them.

Her latest album, ‘The Art of Loving’, has gotten a ton of spin from me. Her song Baby Steps is high on my list for songs of the year.

My prediction for Rap Album of the Year is none other than The Clipse with their album ‘Let God Sort Em Out’.

Released back in july, this album hasn’t left my rotation and it has no plan to do so. The return of Malice to the big stage cannot be understated. He had verses on this album that make it hard for me to think of any [Other Rapper] rapping better. The song Ace Trumpets having one of them. With the canvas Pharrell cooked up with the beat, you can’t find a smoother flow with wittier punch lines.

Both Malice and Pusha T presented their art to the world and treated it like it deserved to be in the Louvre. Or performed outside the Vatican, which they did.
